C - Typedef

From EdWiki

Typedef

C provides a facility called typedef for creating a new data type names.

typedef char* PCHAR;

makes the name PCHAR a synonym for char*. The type PCHAR can be used in declarations, casts, etc., in exactly the same ways that the type char* can be:

PCHAR p;
PCHAR lineptr[100];
P = (PCHAR)malloc(100);
