Pointers ...

  • Every pointer points to a specific data type.
  • A “pointer to void” is used to hold any type of pointer but cannot be de-referenced itself.
  • Pointer arguments enable a function to access and change variables in the function that called it.
  • Pointers and integers are not interchangeable.
  • The constant zero (NULL) may be assigned to a pointer, and a pointer may be compared with the constant zero.
